Discovered 1993 Mar. 17 at the European Southern Observatory in the course of the Uppsala-ESO Survey of Asteroids and Comets.
With a diameter of 50 meters, Uggarde Rojr is the largest of the 1400 cairns on Gotland that were constructed between 2000 and 400 B.C.
