In the light of the interesting results concerning the Hilda asteroids we have extended our spectroscopic investigation to the Cybele asteroids. In April 1996 we had two perfect nights on the ESO 3.5m NTT, where we obtained spectra of about 20 Cybele asteroids. To decrease the lower size limit of the sample, 15 of the observed asteroids are below the earlier studied size range.
A large number of photometric lightcurves have so far been obtained, mainly at the Calar Alto Observatory.
