Symposium venue
The symposium venue, Museum Gustavianum,
was once the main building of Scandinavia's oldest university. It is centrally located in
Uppsala 5-10 minutes walk from the railway station.
The conference room, called Auditorium Minus, has modern audiovisual equipment,
and holds up to 78 people seated, each with a table.
There are several restaurants nearby.
The museum exhibitions will be open to the participants during the symposium as well as to
the general public during regular opening hours.
The building is equipped with a lift and is acessible to disabled persons.
Symposium fee
The symposium early registration
fee is 2000:- SEK (about 215 EUR or 340 USD) until May 9,
after that date it goes up by 500:- SEK.
The registration fee covers the Welcoming reception, Coffee breaks,
Symposium excursion and dinner, and the Proceedings volume.
Accompanying persons who wish to take part in the boat excursion and dinner on
Thursday June 26 are asked to pay 600:- SEK.
Transportation
For visitors coming by car:
Parking is available in several places near Museum Gustavianum but may fill up on busy days.
There are parking garages at Dragarbrunnsgatan and S:t Olofsgatan, east of the river Fyris.
Public transportation from Arlanda Airport:
20 minutes by train (120:- SEK March 2008), or 40 minutes by Bus 801, bus stop number 13 outside each terminal building (100:- SEK March 2008).
Taxi between Uppsala and Arlanda Airport:
Uppsala Taxi fixed price 1-4 persons, about 30 minutes (435:- SEK March 2008).
