CDP is a cross-disciplinary centre at the Faculty of Science and Technology at Uppsala University. The centre was started in 2003. It aims at bringing together scientists interested in complex dynamical systems, characterized by non-linear and chaotic processes, and their role in the formation of structure. A basic motivation for this centre is the interest in exploring and developing common perspectives, methods and theories in studies of structure formation
To achieve these goals, the centre funds and organizes several activities every year:
- courses of relevance for students and researchers from different sciences with a common interest in the field of dynamical systems and structure formation.
- seminars for a broad audience interested in structure formation in dynamical systems.
- workshops on specific topics related to the activities at the centre.
- thematic research sessions, ranging in time between a few weeks to one year. During such a session, guest researchers and lecturers are invited, seminars and topical courses are held, and research workshops are arranged.
All CDP activities are organized in a way accessible for graduate students and researchers from different disciplines.
