CDP

Centre for Dynamical Processes and Structure Formation

CDP is a cross-disciplinary centre at the Faculty of Science and Technology at Uppsala University. The centre was started in 2003. It aims at bringing together scientists interested in complex dynamical systems, characterized by non-linear and chaotic processes, and their role in the formation of structure. A basic motivation for this centre is the interest in exploring and developing common perspectives, methods and theories in studies of structure formation

To achieve these goals, the centre funds and organizes several activities every year:

All CDP activities are organized in a way accessible for graduate students and researchers from different disciplines.

Upcoming activities

Suggestions for new activities within CDP are welcome!

Activities within CDP should be multidisciplinary: several research areas (and normally several university departments) should be in involved. In particular, we wish to encourage activities across Section borders.

Within this policy CDP may support guest researchers and guest lecturers, courses (on PhD and graduate level), colloquia, seminars and workshops. Normal research grants are not given, nor support for positions. The CDP activity is partly coordinated into "themes" which may run one semester at a time. In such a theme there may be a combination of a guest programme, a workshop and courses.

Contact Bengt Gustafsson or anybody else in the CDP Committee with your suggestions.
