The Visual Observation Report Form of the Nordic Mars Observers is based on the international general consensus of reporting visual Mars observations. For best use of the form, all appropriate boxes and data lines should be filled in prior to submittal of the observation to the coordinator.
The visual drawing is scanned and pertinent information transferred to the web page of the observation, which may be found on the NMO Observation Pages. Dedicated observers frequently contributing observations are very welcome to prepare their own scans and description of the observation in html format used by the NMO. This will significantly reduce the workload of the coordinator, who will be able to study the favourite Red Planet instead!
Information on the observation descriptions given on the NMO web pages is given on the Descriptions, Abbreviations and Spectral Visibility pages.
The Visual Observation Report Form may be downloaded in gif [obsform.gif] (58K) or jpeg [obsform.jpg] (670K) formats. For field use, the observation form disk sizes should be 50.0 mm in diameter.
Instruction for use of the Visual Observation Report Form may be found on the Observation Form Instructions page.
