The orbital history of two periodic comets encountering Saturn
Abstract
Two comets found in 1997 (P/1997 T3 Lagerkvist-Carsenty) and 1998 (P/1998 U3 Jäger) had relatively resently prior to discovery had close approaches with Saturn. These two comets could be the first two (former) members of a Saturn family of comets similar to that of Jupiter. P/1998 U3 Järger is intresting from a nother point of view. Some of the tested possible orbits showed a Saturn horseshoe behaviour, although not the nominal orbit of today.
