• Instationary surface convection
• Small downdrafts at surface and deep downdraft regions
• Depth and efficiency of convection increase with decreasing effective temperature (as in MLT)
• Overshoot, significant negative convective flux in lower convection zone (unlike MLT)
• Pulsations and their interaction with convection

Problems

• Ratio in time scales (radiative vs thermal)
• Ratio in spatial scales (T jump vs depths of convection zone and mode depths)
