By analysing the orbital properties of the satellites of Uranus he calculated the planet's rotation period and flattening.

His later work had a more astrophysical approach, for example he studied the solar corona, from plates obtained during the solar eclipse expedition in 1914.

He also published literature for the general public and his book "Astronomi" (1925), had great influence.
