We used the latest version of VALD3 for the initial phase of the [[http://vald.inasan.ru/twiki|SHoP]] project. Here we synthesized spectra of three Main Sequence stars with Teff=7000K, 5000K and 4000K and selected 18 spectral intervals that constrain the temperature, surface gravity and abundances of 12 chemical elements including refractive and volatile species.  We used the latest version of VALD3 for the initial phase of the [[http://vald.inasan.ru/twiki/bin/view/Main/WebHome|SHoP]] project. Agenda

1. Producing the dump of latest VALD3 atomic data.

  • Two separate dumps were produced for "observed" transitions and all atomic transitions using the the latest VALD3 software (PRESELECT3) and the term parsing tool. The changes to the term parsing required modifications to the dump in order to fix the Hydrogen and the Helium transitions (moving the principle quantum numbers from the fields of broadening parameters to separate keywords).

2. Deploying the new Node Software

  • The latest version of the Node Software was install from Github repository in the vald server in Moscow. Main changes to the previous version is the delayed generation of the BibTeX stream that allows selecting only relevant references and streamlining of the state key generation.

3. Importing VALD3

  • The dumps were successfully imported by the Publishing Tools and the VAMDC registry automatically update the information on the new versions of the VALD3 nodes.

4. Testing

  • We run a set of random extraction tests proposed by Torgny Karlsson (Torgny's report) and found to inconsistencies.

5. VALD3 and the SHoP project

  • We used the latest version of VALD3 for the initial phase of the SHoP project. Here we synthesized spectra of three Main Sequence stars with Teff=7000K, 5000K and 4000K and selected 18 spectral intervals that constrain the temperature, surface gravity and abundances of 12 chemical elements including refractive and volatile species.
