The spectral evolution of high-redshift galaxies (30/45 hp)

In coming years, new surveys and instruments will provide a wealth of data on galaxies at very high redshifts. Interpreting these data will, however, provide an outstanding challenge and require a new generation of spectral evolutionary models for galaxies. At high redshifts, population III stars (either classical ones or so-called dark stars) are expected to turn up as a new constituent of galaxies, and the more pronounced star formation activitiy in the early Universe also calls for more sophisticated ways of correcting for nebular emission. The goal of this project is to develop a new spectral synthesis code which includes all the ingredients relevant for high-redshift galaxies.
