Sold to Portuguese owners 1895. Renamed Ferreira. Rerigged as a barquentine 1917. Bought by Captain and Mrs Dowman 1922 and rerigged as a ship. Given to HMS Worcester, training ship 1938. Given to Cutty Sark Society 1953. Opened to the public by HM The Queen 1957.

Built at Dumbarton 1869; length overall 280 ft (85.4 m), length between perpendiculars 212.5 ft (64.8 m), beam 36 ft (11 m), depth (moulded) 22.5 ft (6.7 m), gross tonnage 963 tons (978.5 tonnes), net tonnage 921 tons (937 tonnes), displacement at 20 ft. draught 2,100 tons (2133.7 tonnes), sail area 32,000 sq.ft. (2,976 sq.m.), loaded draught 21 ft. (6.4 m)
