The image was taken with a Canon 550D camera mounted on a tripod and using a EFS 18-55mm lens (binned two times) at 17:51UT, which is before the comet was first spotted, i.e. roughly in blind. The cresent moon is seen to the upper left. Notice the night side which is illuminated by an Earth slightly passed full. By the way, the comet can be found as a faint spott as well. Go to the centermost dipp in the tree line, then straight up slightly longer than what the next treetop to the right is broad.
