Serpens Cauda is a part of the constellation Serpens, which is situated on the equator. Serpens Cauda is mostly in the southern sky. In greek mythology the snake guarded the Oracle of Delphi and it is directly connected to Ophiuchus. Serpens Cauda can be seen in the August/September evenings towards SW or in the early mornings of April towards SE. The open cluster M16 can be seen as a faint spot in this image.
