Taurus is a northern zodiac constellation. In greek mythology Taurus is often associated with the white bull Zeus changed into. Taurus is high in the sky in the mid winter evenings. There are two prominent open clusters in this constellation. The Hyades (daughters of Atlas), around the head of Taurus, and the Pleiades (also daughters of Atlas). The summer solstice occur in Taurus.
