HARPSpol: Assembly and Testing in Utrecht

 

After Uppsala the polarimeter arrived to the Netherlands.

 

The Netherlands is always spectacular in April:

But we came to work and so we worked hard.

While Frans and Michiel installed the optical components into a very delicate and miniature optical tables

our instrument designer Andrey was visiting local workshops

Of course, the assembly and testing process was thoroughly documented:

We also needed to decide how the instrument should travel to Chile. After considering several options
