4th VALD3-VAMDC meeting
Moscow 24-27 May 2011
Part 1 - VALD3
Participants:
- N. Piskunov (UU)
- T. Ryabchikova (INASAN)
- Yu. Pakhomov (INASAN)
- U. Heiter (UU)
Topics discussed on 26 May 2011:
- Status of VALD-3
- Software: extraction software and EMS software is ready; new statistics handling has to be implemented in two places (parse_request and new statistics tool); synchronization is "outsourced" and is not anymore part of the VALD software
- Data: Atomic line lists are complete for first three ionization stages; some data files for higher ionization stages have to be converted; Molecular line lists are available for TiO (two versions, with calculated or observed wavelengths)
- Administration: Eric is VALD administrator; the main server is still in Vienna, Theresa is responsible to take action in case of any hardware problems.
- Show Line as a web service
- Tanya suggested to provide Show Line as a web service with immediate reply rather than e-mail request. We agreed to implement this, since only a small amount of data is involved, and it is useful to see the result immediately. The option to send a Show Line request by e-mail will remain. This feature will be implemented by Yury with consultation of Eric.
- Hyperfine structure constants
- Implement extraction of hyperfine structure constants:
- generate separate data file for hyperfine structure constants (for a small set of test data to start with)
- add flag in VALD record (last byte of comment field) indicating if data exist for the current line or add a line for the data file in the configuration file (similar to a replacement list)
- implement option to extract hyperfine structure in preselect
- The VALD mirror in Moscow was re-installed on a new server machine.
Part 2 - VAMDC/XSAMS
Meeting on 27 May 2011, to discuss XSAMS-VAMDC development. See Meeting page on VAMDC wiki.
