HARPSpol: Assembly and Testing in Utrecht
After
Uppsala the polarimeter arrived to the Netherlands.
The
Netherlands is always spectacular in April:
and
so is Utrecht:
But
we came to work and so we worked hard.
While
Frans and Michiel installed the optical components into a very delicate and
miniature optical tables
our
instrument designer Andrey was visiting local workshops
and
I was talking to some important people
Of course, the assembly and testing process was thoroughly
documented:
We
also needed to decide how the instrument should travel to Chile. After
considering several options
we
let ESO handle the transport.
Ready
to go:

The
device was shipped to Garching on May 1st and from there to Chile.
