Besides writing the final exam, in order to get full credit for the course you will also have to complete the assignments indicated below.Problem sets
A series of problem sets will be distributed to help you review the course material. The solutions to each problem set have to be handed in to the tutor before the corresponding deadline in order to receive full credit. Check the schedule of the course for the actual deadlines.The solutions to the problems will be discussed at the tutorial sessions, taking place the very same day of the deadlines, in the afternoon.
Computer lab exercise
In this exercise you will be using a computer program to study some aspects of the structure of stars on the zero-age main sequence (see Prialnik, Ch. 7). You have to write a report based on the results of the computer exercise and return it to the tutor.Here you can find the instructions for the computer lab exercise.
If you wish to use LaTeX (but it is NOT compulsary!) to write your report but you are not very familiar with it, this simple LaTeX template (report.tex) might help you to start. The file report.ps also contains some useful advices how to write a scientific report, take a look at those too!
Essay and Presentation
